NAPAPIJRI FOCUSES ON ANIMAL WELFARE AND GOES FUR-FREE FOR FALL/WINTER 2015
Napapjiri embraces animal welfare and for the new Fall/Winter 2015 collection, replaces real fur with Eco-Fur for the collars and linings of detachable hoods.
An extremely significant policy shift for the brand owned by VF Group, which bears witness to its respect and ongoing commitment towards the environment and its natural resources.
The label, which for years has been identified by the Norwegian flag, expresses its commitment to animal welfare and introduces a sophisticated, cutting-edge Eco-Fur made of exclusive Kanecaron® fibres, sourced from a leading Japanese manufacturer, which are characterized by a softness, lightness and durability as a viable alternative to the touch and colour of real fur.
This genuine look, obtained thanks to a special dyeing and printing process that excludes the use of additives or chemicals, results in the Eco-Fur having antibacterial properties in addition to very low shedding as well as being a practical easy-care fabrication, allowing garments to be dry-cleaned over and over again without compromising on colour fastness or quality.
Eco-fur debuts in Napapijri’s iconic winter jacket, the Skidoo, which since its creation has always united a spirit of discovery and adventure with avant-garde design and research. The much-loved jacket with its “everyday & everywhere” silhouette is once again the star of the season, in the sophisticated new editions of the Premium Heritage Icons collection – the brand new haute-de-gamme range featuring a wealth of materials and distinctive details.
In the Premium Heritage Icons collection, eco-fur on the hood highlights the sophistication of the timeless men’s and women’s anorak, with practical multiple pockets and a drawstring for adjustable fit. In the men’s version in Chevron, with shoulders and back in wool, the strong graphic and color content is further enhanced by the tonal material code and elegant herringbone pattern. For women, as well as the Chevron and technical microfiber variant, the item is also available in the Italian lightweight flannel version, with sartorial style quilting and stitching.
