The latest addition to HonestBrew – the online retailer revolutionising craft beer discovery – is their very own HonestBrew APA 6.2%, concocted by HonestBrew and brewed with White Hag. Inspired by the low bitterness and juicy fruit character of modern IPAs, HonestBrew set out to create a tribute to this ever-‐evolving style. After a long search they tracked down a dangerous amount of new world hops including Simcoe and Amarillo. Increasingly sought after Irish malt provided a rich and smooth base for the hops and produced a surprising amount of fermentables. London-‐based illustrator HATCH is the artist responsible for distilling the many flavours of HonestBrew’s APA into a single, striking illustration.
“Working with White Hag head brewer Joe was a great experience and he had some invaluable tips from his encyclopedia of brewing knowledge. Years of brewing for breweries like Hoppin’ Frog meant he was able to give us a hand in getting the most out of the copious weight of hops. The beer was all whirlpool and dry hop additions with not a glimpse of hops in the boil, resulting in a dense juicy aroma and flavour with a dangerous drink-‐ability” Andrew Reeve – CEO and Founder of HonestBrew.
