FRANKLIN & MARSHALL: A TRUE CITIZENS OF THE WORLD
How can a blue sweatshirt inspire the dreams and ambitions of two young Venetians, and give life to an entrepreneurial fairy-tale of success? It is a romantic story of love at first sight, an encounter with a vintage garment rich in history that symbolises and embodies important values such as freedom, passion for sport, loyalty and respect for the environment. These values were transferred to a new brand that soon became a cult designer label for young and not-so-young people who love to wear original clothes of quality. Made in Italy.
Franklin & Marshall is not only a high quality clothing company, but also a philosophy of life based on collective wellbeing. Based on respect, mutual understanding and trust, on real feelings such as friendship, complicity between classmates, team members and colleagues. Those who walk into a Franklin & Marshall store will find themselves in a universe of values. As in the great university of life where sport, culture, music, art and interests revolve around anything that creates sharing, participation and emotion.
The Franklin & Marshall story is recounted in each product. And what they offer is nothing more than what they believe in. Freedom, Authenticity, Creativity. And, of course, Quality. A piece of clothing that lasts over time. Welfare comes first, even in business. This is the thought that guides Franklin & Marshall and its founders. A corporate philosophy where fairness and an ethical vision of work “triumphs”, both inside the company and in relations with the outside world.
Despite the fact that the inspiration was born from the passion for sport and America and that the company’s brand philosophy is based on a cosmopolitan spirit, as true citizens of the world, the great competitive advantage of Franklin & Marshall lies in the fact that it is proudly Italian. The collection is predominately manufactured with Italian raw materials and almost all of the products are made in Venetian factories, ensuring outstanding quality standards. This concept of top quality has always been a fundamental aspect of the brand and has never been abandoned, not even in collaborations with foreign partners. A Franklin & Marshall garment is recognised by the attention to detail, vintage washes, printing techniques such as crock flock, by the embroidery, the tackle twill applications and, of course, by the label, which in 90% of cases will carry the words “Made in Italy”.
Only two years after its birth, Franklin & Marshall began to explore foreign markets and today, with over 80% of sales outside of Italy, can be considered as an international brand in its own right. The branded corners and shop-in-shop stores are present in major department stores around the world, while the rapid and constant expansion of its own-brand stores is a feather in the cap for Franklin & Marshall distribution.
