LUKE SS16
This season sees Luke expand upon previous Spring/Summer collections to embrace diversity, while staple pieces in the form of classic gingham and check shirts, along with popular repeat styles stay true to the Luke brand. This season suits all occasions from casual to formal with Luke’s ethos linking it all together. SS16 introduces a mixture of soft pastel colours; blue, yellow and pink, setting the backdrop for this collection. These stand out against the bold pop purple, marina navy and red, allowing a very vibrant and fresh tone.
Geometrics are the foundation of the collection represented through prints and feel. From textured waffle detail sweat and slim leg joggers, for that clean streetwear vibe, to energetic all over prints. T-shirts inspired by ‘movement’, portrayed in the POLLOCKS splash t-shirt, an ode to Jackson Pollock. Signature, stand out pieces include the CAPABILITY ZEB perforated stretch nylon bomber with a breathable mesh lining in powder blue, coral and marina navy. The FRICTION sport tech mesh jacket with removable sleeves is perfect for the unpredictable British summer weather. Innovative laser cutting techniques used in the collection allow for a 3D effect, creating depth throughout various styles. Completely original in design and to Luke, sourcing specialist technical fabrics from around the world, TECHUNIQUE sets the inspiration from which SS16 was born. ‘Designed for living on the edge’, the Luke TECHUNIQUE fabrication has heavily influenced past seasons, but for SS16 TECHUNIQUE has evolved in finesse for a more desired fit.
The Denim range has progressed from entry point denim up to premium line like the ‘Luke made in the UK’ denim, offering clean silhouettes in a range of cuts, from our super skinny Rui and Vacuum to the more relaxed Eddie fit. A variation of washes run throughout the collection with light summer blues to dark blue/blacks. True to Luke Denim is the unique styling and finish, the added tape detailing with feature rivets and buttons, retaining Luke’s quirky fun element of hiding notes.
With clear and concise branding represented by the classic Luke trim tape, the footwear range for this season incorporates the practical sport feel with an innovative design finish. The classic lightweight cotton jersey and woven runners have added new fabrications and colours, core to the collection, combined with a range of smart technical shoes. Taking on the different elements of the main and sports range and combining them into footwear is what sets SS16 apart from previous seasons.
