House of Dagmar Capsule Collection 2016: Black Eleven
House of Dagmar is launching a capsule collection consisting of 11 dresses. The collection focuses on the darkest aspects of the inspiration for the A/W16 collection – Twin Peaks.
The collection is full of darkness, mystique, and drama. The color palette ranges only from black to shades of grey. The rain water pattern in the collection is taken out of a scene in Fire Walk with Me, in which rain is pouring down a car window, with the darkness outside reflected in the water drops, creating the inspirational pattern. Dagmar adapted this pattern specially for the collection in a unique silk and velvet combination, creating a burnout effect. The materials in the collection consist of three qualities, all complementing each other.
The collection is characterized by historical silhouettes with progressive elements. Asymmetrical cuts and sensual draping recur in several of the garments. Combined with synched waistlines, the silhouettes of the collection become a celebration of female sensuality.
The collection is very tight and cohesive. Each garment is numbered from 1-11, and may be grouped together according to their design.
