NEW ERA INTRODUCES THE HERITAGE SERIES – 1942 COLLECTION
Capturing the spirit of the times, New Era unveils the Heritage Series 1942 Collection – classic styles embodying the determination and resolve of 1940s America.
Perseverance and steadfast resolve lay at the core of New Era’s latest Heritage Series. Placing focus on the year of 1942, the brand revives two classic caps born from a spirit of resourcefulness. An era of instability and uncertainty, America’s fabric shortage encouraged its most innovative companies to find new means and methods of production. Baseball was a powerful symbol of hope during hard times and New Era were determined to mark the MLB’s World Series just as they had always done.
Founders, the ever-inventive Koch family, recycled and reused found materials to produce commemorative headpieces, retaining the company’s trademark quality despite industry-wide cutbacks. Today we mark this crucial moment in history by honouring the 1942 World Series with defending champions, the New York Yankees, and the St. Louis Cardinals. A sharp eye on detail, the lightweight and unstructured nylon crown features original logos in soft felt, MLB Cooperstown logos and a collectable pin badge, this faithful replica based on the original press pin given to a selection of journalists who attended the games.
