DR. MARTENS SS17: PAINT SPLATTER

For SS17, Dr. Martens references the 1990s global phenomenon of grunge as its core inspiration. This historically important counter-culture music scene exploded from the north-west Pacific coast of the USA, and in a short space of time dominated the world’s music industry, charts and live circuit. Dr. Martens found themselves at the heart of this massive explosion of alternative thinking, music and style – the 1460 8-eye boot was soon championed by millions of grunge fans worldwide.

The paint splatter options within the SS17 collection of both footwear and clothing/accessories are grunge-inspired, drawing on the early 1990s for colourful influence.

The printed paint effect has been created internally by the DM’s design team, so it is a unique customisation. The all-over printed graphic is intended to mimic the effect of an artist in the studio spilling paint over their boots, clothes etc… while they create.

The Dr. Martens satchel collection is available in the season’s leathers and prints which complement the SS17 footwear range. In addition to this we have our perennial leathers across the satchel range.
