HUDSON DROPS FIRST DEDICATED SNEAKER COLLECTION
Historically a shoe brand Hudson London the Hoxton based footwear company release their first dedicated sneaker collection this spring.
Made in Portugal the sneakers are a design collaboration between the company and former Puma Creative Director Rachel Alsbury. The sneakers form a more casual collection for the brand but retain the same quality and styling that is synonymous with Hudson.
The collaboration with Rachel Alsbury developed from her relationship with Hudson’s Creative Director, Victoria Haddon. Having studied together at Cordwainers College in the early 90s, Rachel went on to work for Clarks Originals, Sergio Rossi and Puma where she was Creative Director working on collaborations such as Alexander McQueen & Chalayan. Most recently she has worked with Christopher Kane designing his sneaker collection. Rachel’s technical knowledge and expertise perfectly combined with Hudson’s approach to craft and quality on this project.
The collection is made up of two styles both on a unique runner outsole developed exclusively for Hudson London.
Sime is a minimalist lace up made from one single piece of premium leather with laser cut detailing and a contrasting internal neoprene sock.
The more technically styled multi lace Brodie features an exposed neoprene and nubuck upper on a two tone speckled outsole.
The campaign sees Hudson team up with two brothers from London, Kuda & Shorai who teach and practice a unique mix of yoga and calisthenics. Through combining extensive nutritional knowledge, yogic meditation practices and the intense exercise of calisthenics, the brothers have built a following of devoted practitioners across London.
Hudson worked with up and coming photographer, Alexander McLuckie, whose recent work includes shoots for Vice, i-d, Vogue and Dazed & Confused.
The shoes retail for £120 and are available now.
