THOMAS PINK SS17

BUSINESS DRESSING, WHATEVER THE BUSINESS SS17

Last season Modern British Shirtmaker Thomas Pink put ‘Business’ first, introducing a premium and luxury shirting collection to provide City professionals with an innovative and focused assortment of formal shirt designs, five days a week.

For Spring Summer 2017 Thomas Pink is enhancing its Business offering, dressing the man beyond the City for ‘Whatever the Business’. A design focused proposition enters the boardroom this season, catering for a wider scope of industries such as Creative, Media and Property professionals. Key new styles from Thomas Pink’s ‘About Town’ offering compliment more formal ‘Business’ collection codes from the previous season, broadening the opportunities for men’s working wardrobes.

“Dress down…..a bit”

For those wishing to look sharp but take a less formal approach to Business dressing, new additions to the ‘About Town’ collection offer a perfect alternative, with highly crafted fabrications as the key to keeping cool both in – and inbetween – meetings.

Early spring is inspired by modern art, print designs and minimal architecture from the Bauhaus movement introducing a range of graphic stories with linear patterns and micro-textures. The colour palette is simplistic and monochromatic with whites and shades of blue, highlighted with nuances of grey and punctuated with pops of red. Texture is key, and specialist optical graphic weaves invigorate the range with interlocking motifs, adding visual depth and complexity to fabrics. Hero designs include the ‘About Town’ Plato easy to wear shirt, fabricated in two-fold 100s cotton, tailored but not tight, and characterised by its trusty gingham pattern.

Summer introduces prints including stripes, checks and minimalist shapes to create an illusion of texture. The colourful architecture, sights, sounds and energy of Havana inspire a spirited range of textured weaves, botanical prints and sun bleached pastel shirting.

For high summer an Out of Africa inspiration punctuates the season with a real sense of holiday spirit. Rich saturated candied brights are offset against equally rich blues. Thomas Pink’s linen shirts are the perfect solution to off-duty style, offering a unique fit due to the looser weave of the linen fabric. From the Casual block, they are a relaxed easy-to-wear fit with button cuffs, and a light softer constructed collar.

“You Can’t Aim High In A Shirt That’s Beneath You”

Thomas Pink’s heartland in formal ‘Business’ shirting receives a seasonal update for Spring Summer 2017. The core colour palette of white, blue and pink – always in block colours, subtle stripes or light checks – gets a sprinkling of lilac for a lighter more summery feel. Semi and extreme cutaway collars remain on trend features of the Bulldog, Traveller and Sterling ranges, whilst double cuffs elevate the 1984 styles for the ultimate discerning gentleman.
