DIAMOND SUPPLY CO. TEAMS UP THE WITH LEGENDARY DOGTOWN SKATEBOARDS FOR ICONIC CAPSULE COLLECTION

Diamond Supply Co. has teamed up with legendary Venice, California brand Dogtown Skateboards for a capsule collection. The collection sees the Dogtown Skateboards cross logo get the Diamond Supply Co. treatment, merchandised onto caps, a deck, a hoodie, a coaches jacket and short and long sleeve tees. References of the classic 1980s skate aesthetic can be seen with the photo tee and the back graphic of the long sleeve tee.

The collection is available from September 2nd online Diamond Supply Co. UK and at select skate shops. In the late 1960s “Dogtown” was the name for the not-so-sunny side of Santa Monica and from it, in the 1970s, a new lifestyle and culture emerged where surfers transitioned their wave manoeuvres to the pavement, using skateboards. Coining the term “locals only” because outsiders were not welcome to their part of town, they were brash and unapologetic, and as the originators they symbolised everything about LA skate culture and backyard pool-skating. The Dogtown cross logo was designed by artist CR Stecyk III and gained notoriety after being published in Skateboarder Magazine in 1975, and was printed on decks a few years later.

With Dogtown Skateboards recently reaching their 40th anniversary milestone last year and Diamond Supply Co. set to celebrate 20 years in business next year this collaboration joins the two now in 2017, allowing both brands to blend their iconic histories in a nostalgic mix of old school and new school skate era styles.
