NEW BALANCE CELEBRATES ‘GREY DAY’ WITH ICONIC 574
Leading footwear brand New Balance officially celebrated the iconic 574 trainer in its original grey colourway as part of its global Grey Day event on 15th March, 2018. Taking place at The Yard in London’s Shoreditch, the event saw hundreds of sneaker fans come together to commend the classic silhouette that New Balance is perhaps best known for, and has become synonymous with sneaker culture over the last 30 years.
The event brought together a variety of artists that represented the iconic nature of the New Balance 574. Attendees saw a unique photography exhibition from renowned culture photographer Ewen Spencer, which included original shots of music artists including Jesse James Solomon, Conducta and Flohio, which showcased each of the individuals’ depiction of style wearing the New Balance 574. The event also saw DJ sets from Mike Skinner and up and coming underground production and DJ duo Star. One.
Samantha Matthews, Senior marketing manager of New Balance UK & Ireland said, “The 574 is more than just a silhouette to New Balance; it is milestone in our brand’s history and a symbol of where we are today, which we are incredibly proud of.
“Grey represents the enduring legacy of the original shoe that is still just as relevant today as when it was released back in the 1980s, so for us Grey Day was all about bringing together people who could embody that legacy to create a truly iconic experience for all those who attended.
