SIT BACK AND RELAX WITH HAIG CLUB CLUBMAN WHISKY
I am a man who likes a cheeky drink. My go to cocktail; an Old Fashioned, so it stands to reason that I love whisky. I tend to have a few I gravitate to also love trying new ones. I have only ever tried Haig Club Whisky once while out with friends, but I do remember thinking; “man this is nice; I need to get myself a bottle of this.”
So, given the chance to have another try of the much-anticipated David Beckham endorsed single grain whisky, produced at Cameronbridge distillery, I jumped at the opportunity. Beckham, along with Simon Fuller, is very much involved in the development of the Haig Club brand so it stands to reason that aesthetic is a big part of the brands identity. The thing that grabs your attentions first is the electric blue square bottle, something I hadn’t seen in the whisky world yet.
I mostly shoot for malt whiskey but it’s always nice to switch things up with a single grain and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. It’s lighter than the traditional malt whiskey I would probably be looking for but when mixed in cocktails delivers something very interesting; I am a fan! It’s a very easy to drink Whisky and a good jumping-off point for anyone who would like to get into Whisky.
