BE GLORIOUS IN FLORAL SHIRTS
Be it subtle sprouts or an overgrown garden, the floral-printed shirt is not going anywhere anytime soon.
With so much choice there is a print, a pattern and a colour to fit any season. The one thing to take note of that is extremely important, is to buy the right floral shirt for your skin-tone, body shape and even hair colour.
Most importantly, it’s very important that you are comfortable in the print you pick as if you are not sure it will come across and you will end up looking like a dad on holiday in Hawaii.
I would always say go for a more fitted look, and always complement the pint with the right coloured jeans, chinos or trousers and remember less is always more; try to have just one floral item at a time.
For guys who want to experiment with florals but aren’t quite sure if it’s for them, the key is to start with something subtle, so you don’t feel as though you’re overdoing it. I would suggest starting out with darker prints.
Like my friend, Shane Kurup said – “The Hawaiian shirt has suffered a barrage of bad press for decades. The original floral garment for men was the invention of Japanese and Chinese immigrant entrepreneurs of 1930s Hawaii, who began stitching sections of old kimonos together to create colourful and eye-catching garments for tourists. However, as fashion is a fickle master, it was only a matter of time before the Aloha shirt made a glorious come back.”
Go out there and find the right floral shirt for you and to help you out I have listed where my selection is from.
