TRIWA: TIME FOR PEACE II
As a result of illegal firearms, someone is shot every minute.
After TRIWA’s first campaign in 2018, they together with NPO IM Swedish Development Partner, were able to melt down almost 5,000 illegal firearms and give back over $70,000 to local anti-violence project in El Salvador. Their first Humanium Metal Watch is now even part of UNs permanent exhibi- tion on disarmament and is one of the first external brands in the UNDP shop, to help spread the word about the Sustainable Development Goals.
This September 18th TRIWA will launch their Humanium Metal 2.0 Kickstarter campaign which hopes to make an even bigger impact. More destructed illegal weapons, more anti-violence funding, more PEACE.
The TRIWA x Humanium Metal 2.0 collection, sees elevated designs meet new levels of sophistication. Introducing the new Hu39 Chrono; which includes a moulded Humanium Metal case stamped with the Humanium logo and three stamped out mini dials with matching indexes and circular brushed finish. The Hu39 Slate SKU sees the classic design in a subtle slate grey perfect for watch connoisseurs.
In 2015, El Salvador was considered the world’s most deadly country outside a war zone. The homicide rate was epidemic and nearly 80% of crimes were being committed with illegal firearms.
Thanks to TRIWA and their non-profit partner, IM, 15% of every sale directly benefits the society from which the firearms were originally collected and supports the victims of armed violence.
