TRETORN X NIGEL CABOURN

Introducing the Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn capsule collection, based on a shared ethos and passion for creating garments that are produced to the highest quality; are functional in detail, timeless in design and show respect to the natural environment. The collaboration is a three-piece collection containing: jacket, bag and sneaker. All products in the collection are made in Organic or recycled Ventile and are part of the Tretorn Eco Essentials initiative.
Tretorn was established 1891 in Sweden and have a long heritage in crafting hiking boots and functional wear for the extreme conditions in SAREK, the largest untouched wilderness in Europe.

SAREK National Park is a 1970 km2 national park in the western part of Jokkmokk municipality in Lapland and was formed in 1909. The park is one of the oldest national parks in Europe and is Sweden’s largest high mountain area where the indigenous Saami people have lived and followed the reindeer migration since ancient times. It’s considered the largest untouched wilderness in Europe and protected as a world heritage site by UNESCO since 1995. Since mid 1900 Tretorn have been making hiking boots for the area and in 1972 Tretorn was so connected to the region that the brand was granted to TradeMark SAREK.

Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn – Sarek Jacket – The Sarek Mountain jacket is based on design inspiration from a 70’s style mountain expedition jacket. It is made in 100% organic Ventile of highest quality. Which gives the jacket a airy feel and makes it as light and comfortable as wearing a cotton shirt. The high quality Ventile has a extreme water repellent functionality and breathability. It also has a natural body heat temperature control, makes the jacket cold when body is warm and warm when body is cold. It is made in a 70’s retro style with large hood, four big front pockets with rubberized buttons and exclusive trims.

Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn – Sarek Sneaker – The reconstructed Sarek sneaker is a fusion of the two iconic Tretorn style sneakers from the 60’s, Racket and Nylite. Brought back together by Nigel Cabourn with a new chunky design and exclusive trims. The sneaker is handmade in high quality Ventile DRY 400 RCO (a very exclusive oxford cotton) and built with a traditional 60’s technique of vulcanized outsole with 30% natural rubber combining the two worlds of Tretorn and Nigel Cabourn. The left shoe has a red color insock and the right shoe has a green color insock to help Nigel separate left from right in his hectic lifestyle.

Tretorn x Nigel Cabourn – Sarek Ruck sack – The Sarek ruck sack has a design inspired from the 70’s vintage hiking rucksacks. It is made in a very exclusive Organic Ventile Canvas 400 making the backpack highly durable, water repellant and breathable. It will be suitable for shorter hikes as well as daily urban commuting. It has multiple clever pockets to stash your gear, no matter if it’s a 15” laptop or portable hiking stove. The rucksack has bottom comportment with zipper and drainage holes perfectly suitable for storing dirty hiking shoes or sneakers after a muddy hike or rainy day downtown. The design has the iconic functionality of a Tretorn product fused with characteristic esthetics of The Nigel Cabourn brand.
