PALLADIUM x FINISTERRE
Palladium partners with sustainable Brit brand Finisterre for a second wave of new recycled and waterproof footwear
Following the sell-out success of their first FW20 collaboration, Palladium partners again with sustainable British outdoor brand Finisterre. Committed to sustainability, the new collaboration continues both brands’ drive for waterproof, durable and eco-friendly footwear alongside new colour options and the brand new PALLAFIN PAMPA OXFORD low style.
Transitioning from a season of icy winter lockdown walks into the brighter if showery days of spring, the new PALLADIUM X FINISTERRE collection reflects each brand’s ecological commitments to cutting consumer pollution, recycling materials, and taking action against global warming.
For SS21, the two brands introduce the PALLAFIN PAMPA OXFORD, a new low ankle iteration of the PAMPA HI RECYCLED WP+. The new style follows the same pattern and fabrications as its predecessor but with a lower white and neon orange heel tab and branded taping. The sole is made from Palladium’s Lite Tech technology giving maximum lightweight comfort with extra durability in the face of the roughest terrains. Despite its light weight and low heel design, the fully recycled style incorporates a fully waterproof membrane and a sole unit designed to provide enhanced grip for the most treacherous of environments.
The upper fabrication is constructed from recycled plastic bottles with the rubber sole unit composed of recycled rubber waste. Each pair is crafted from 5 repurposed and recycled plastic bottles. Branded plastic lace tips are also biodegradable making a durable hardwearing boot that doesn’t cost the earth in resources or carbon footprint. Each colourway also features bright neon orange appliqué details, a nod to marine and hiking gear where bright colourways are used as a safety feature. The new PALLAFIN PAMPA OXFORD comes in earthy Dune and Black colourways.
The PAMPA HI RECYCLED WP+ from the first collaboration receives an updated colour palette with the Monument/Dark Shadow colourway, referencing April’s showery climes ahead of summer’s warmer months.
The collection’s materials conform to environmentally friendly industry standards including Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and the OEKO-TEX, which approves the dyeing and finishing methods of each raw component. A recycle logo is also featured on heel-pulls referencing the eco-credentials of the collection.
