UMBRO x AC/DC
UMBRO SALUTES ROCK LEGENDS AC/DC WITH 1978 SCOTLAND REPLICA KIT
It was at the Glasgow Apollo on 30th April 1978, when just weeks before the World Cup in Argentina, AC/DC in their block-rocking prime performed their encore sporting the official Umbro Scotland kit.
So, what better way to celebrate Umbro’s passion for Scottish football than a reissue of the 1978 kit. Immortalised by Scotland’s most celebrated national squad in history, a squad that produced the goal of the tournament against runners up, Holland. A squad that returned with legendary status.
The reissued ten-piece Scotland capsule collection is led by the main navy football jersey with contrast white shoulder-and-sleeve taping and AC/DC’s High Voltage chest-level logo alongside Umbro’s diamond. Priced at £45, the shirt’s back is emblazoned with a screen- printed ‘78’ as well as an AC/DC logo and the band’s ‘High Voltage’ slogan.
Additional highlights in the capsule include a white jersey T-shirt, priced at £30, a logo-led navy hoodie in fleece jersey with white contrasts at £60, a funnel-neck zip-through tricot track top with all logos and rear prints also priced at £60, and matching tricot track pants at £45.
Completing the collection is a navy suede trainer priced at £70, navy drawstring boardshorts at £30, a beanie cap at £18, baseball cap at £23, and scarf at £23.
Through the highs and lows of Scotland’s Argentinian adventure under the managerial lead of Ally MacLeod, the 1978 campaign came to be known as Scotland’s greatest global sporting tournament – an adventure which Umbro is proud to celebrate.
