LUXURY OUTERWEAR BRAND NOBIS REVEALS TRANSITIONAL 2022 COLLECTION: SYMBIOSIS
TORONTO, ON –– Nobis announces its new Transitional 2022 collection, SYMBIOSIS. The brand’s most adaptable and transitional to date, marking a new era of featherweight performance: Technical apparel systems for all weather protection.
This collection captures the essence of transition, inspired by the elements that thrive in the shoulder seasons, crafted with the anticipation of the unexpected. These products are tactically designed to perform from mild to inclement weather, embracing the cycle from winter to spring, and back into fall again.
Aptly titled Symbiosis, the Transitional 2022 collection highlights independent pieces with unique individual performance attributes, built to integrate as fully functioning systems. This curated collection includes hybrid breathable merino wool base-layers with waterproof and windproof finishes, lightweight layers of insulation, and complete with windproof/waterproof windbreaker utility shells. Nobis’ membrane laminations, seam-sealed construction, and durable water repellent finishes come together to create long-lasting, machine washable pieces to transition with ease.
“We took our time analyzing the lifecycle of each product, developing each and every piece with purpose.” Michael Kerr, Nobis’ Senior Design Director says of the upcoming release, “Every layer is carefully considered as to its role in the system and how it contributes to the overall performance, not only of the garment, but the performance expectations of the consumer”.
Newly added this season is the Evo Ladies’ Performance Zip Sweater, and Layton Men’s Tactical Hybrid Sweater, both in a combination of soft Merino Wool, offering light insulation and moisture wicking capabilities, and Nobis’ textured Premium Stretch Ripstop for durability. Alternatively, PrimaLoft® insulated mid layer styles Mora Ladies Rib Neck Jacket, and Speck Men’s Tailored Jacket offer an elevated warmth. For ultimate performance, the addition of new waterproof/windproof shell layers, Hydra Ladies’ Performance Poncho, and Alta Men’s Performance Shell work to complete the technical systems.
The collection offers two new seasonal prints, exploring in contrast to each other a Structural design inspired by architectural balance, playfully displaying negative and positive balance in wheat and navy colours, and a fluid Desert print, inspiring movement by referencing natural forms from shifting sands to blowing clouds offered in 2 colours, a tonal wheat as well as tonal black.
Other major highlights from this collection include: the Spire Ladies Performance Half Zip, Caldera Ladies Shell, Ero Men’s Tailored Hybrid Sweater, and genderless accessories, Tal 3-in-1 cap, Cader Adjustable Bucket Hat, Myce Insulated Racer Cap and Deterre Woven Scarf featuring our seasons latest prints.
Vice President and Co-Founder Robin Yates shares “In developing this collection, we wanted to redefine the traditional model of spring outerwear and spring/summer collections altogether, approaching the season instead through a peripheral lens.”
“Our latest designs push the boundaries within the luxury outerwear landscape, offering complete adaptability to our ever- changing climate. No longer is Spring just about bright colours and avoiding rain.” Robin adds, “It’s about ease of movement, breathability, the ability to step outside without living by the forecast. Truly, embracing the elements for whatever may come your way.”
With sustainability in mind, Nobis fabrications this season include their signature 4W Durable Stretch Weave, a non- laminated, highly breathable, 4-way stretch sweater-weight fabric and a Premium Stretch Ripstop for subtle contrast texture. Both fabrications are Bluesign and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. This ensures the fabrics are free of harmful substances and are manufactured responsibly with the lowest possible impact on people and the environment.
Nobis mid layer styles feature PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Active+, a thermally synthetic microfiber thermal insulation that delivers breathable warmth to create dry, comfortable, and regulated temperatures, allowing excess moisture vapor that builds up during aerobic activity to escape. The bidirectional stretch offers superior strength and comfort for movement that is fast and free.
